Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy emphasizes engagement, exploration, and inclusivity. Recognizing the challenges faced by students with limited formal training, I strive to create an environment that provides students with the space and time to refine their practice. By integrating proper vocabulary, dance history, comprehensible imagery, and supplementary explanations, I ensure that students of diverse abilities feel confident participating. I have experience teaching Modern Dance, Jazz Dance, Musical Theatre, and Tap to students from the age of six to twenty-two. I hold two bachelors degrees— a B.A. in Dance and a B.A. in Professional Spanish— and am currently attending graduate school at Point Park University. In addition to dance, I also have experience in theatre, voice, and fine arts (specifically ceramics, sculpture, drawing, painting, watercolor, and fabric arts).
